Description: Cassadò left a bigger trove of compositions for his instrument than did his more famous Catalonian contemporary cellist and several of those recorded here are otherwise unavailable on disc. All these works have either a strong melodic foundation in Spanish melody or highly virtuosic demands on the soloist (some have both).
