Description: Here's a really tasty example of "symphony creation". Conductor/violinist Swensen has taken the original version of Brahms' Op. 8 piano trio - the wildly Romantic, Schumann-inspired work of an impassioned 21-year-old, not the later vastly revised work stuffed into a "classical" frame which should have had an opus number of around 101 - and turned it into a richly orchestrated, vividly colorful symphony of almost 48 minutes. The orchestrations of the short group of violin-and-piano pieces are equally appealing. Malmö Opera Orchestra; Joseph Swensen (violin).
