Description: Pistocchi was not only a composer but also a performing countertenor; this 1692 oratorio, lasting 95 minutes, was written for an aristocratic wedding and trumpets the virtues of marital fidelity through the story of a Roman soldier who converts to Christianity and his wife, already a secret Christian.
