Description: As you can see from the instrumentation as listed above, Neukomm delighted in unusual combinations of instruments in his chamber compositions (he didn't write a single string quartet or piano trio). Equally unusual is that these are all one-movement works (lasting from eight to twelve minutes). The larger force works (septets, octet and nonet) are lateish ones, dating from 1832-36 and all composed in England while the quintet and Nocturne are from 1812 and 1817 respectively.
