Description: The 51-minute melodrama "Cinderella", written around 1876 (the notes give no date) was intended by the composer for private performance if you can call "private" the gathering of 14 female vocalists (several of whom become choruses of Good Fairies and of Evil Fairies), one male singer, a narrator and a very gifted pianist. Each character is vividly portrayed with an almost orchestral color in the piano part.  There are eleven numbers separated by brief recitations. The remainder of the disc is taken up by a selection of children's songs taken from opus numbers which practically cover Reinecke's entire career. German-English texts. Catalina Bertucci (soprano), Gerhild Romberger (alto), Markus Köhler (baritone), Christian Kleinert (narrator), Kreutz (piano), Feen Ensemble; Anne Kohler.
