Description: Collectors of the badly neglected Swedish composer von Koch will delight in finding this fetching neo-classical cum neo-romantic concerto from 1978 which, all too short at 13 minutes, gets its first recording. Tuba fanciers will enjoy Aagaard-Nielsen's 15-minute Cry of Fenrir which employs the tuba as the narrator of the tale whose personality allows the composer to ring the changes of the solo instrument from warm lyricism to brutish grunts and interjections. The nine-minute piece for tuba and harp is evocative of utter tranquility. Eirik Gjerdvik (tuba), Pleven Philharmonic Orchestra; Bjørn Breistein.
