Description: Scarlatti needed to spare no expense for this serenata which was commissioned to celebrate the birth of an heir to the Holy Roman Emperor in 1716 (the child died a month later) since he had the most famous singers of the era at his command and he gave them everything they could handle along with colorful and varied orchestral writing (flute, four oboes, two bassoons and two trumpets along with strings and continuo).
