Description: Simax got there first eight years ago this month (04L004) so you might say that BIS is now providing further validation of this rhapsodically lyrical concerto from 1914. Borgström was not a Romantic Nationalist; his big 36-minute concerto is couched in a late German Romantic idiom that was already going out of fashion before the First World War. Funny, though, that this young Norwegian violinist discovered the work in its manuscript form when there was a recording of it out there on a Norwegian label...
