Description: These string serenades are as tuneful, light-hearted (with one extra, deeper adagio movement in Fuchs’ 20-minute work from 1874) and generally life-enhancing like those by Dvorák, Suk, Karłowicz and Tchaikovsky of the same period. Published in Germany in 1889, three years after Herbert left for the New World, his five-movement piece has a very warm Liebes-Scene at its center. Anima Musicae Chamber Orchestra; László G. Horváth.
