Description: Two arrangment/transcriptions surround two sets of pieces which represent the beginning and end of Busoni's Germanic Late Romantic period: the op. 16 with its various inspirations of Brahms, Schumann, Mendelssohn, etc. is the work of an 18-year-old while the Pieces of op. 33b date from 1895-6 when the composer had completely assimilated these influences into his own style which itself was shortly to evolve.
