Description: The main item on this celebration of the famous cellist and pedagogue is his 1905 Capriccio - a 16-minute tour-de-force touching on almost every aspect of string playing. From there we move on adding cellos until reaching the 1922 Hymnus, played at the funeral of Arthur Nikisch. Interspersed are historical recordings by Klengel himself about whose dates and provenance we are told nothing by the notes.
