Description: The leader of the period instrument orchestra Anima Eterna grabs a late 19th century Bechstein for this 67-minute recital of French clarinet music (the date of the clarinet may seem late but corresponds fairly closely to the composition dates of the Bloch - a tuneful, seven-minute work whose title pays tribute to a clarinet builder of the 19th century - the Saint-Saëns and the Milhaud). The differences in timbre and tone are subtle but apparent to the knowing listener. Lisa Shklyaver (1930 Dolnet, Lefevre & Pigis clarinet), Jos van Immerseel (1870 Bechstein piano).
