ANDREA LUCHESI (1741-1801): 8 Divertimenti for Organ, Organ Sonatas I in C and II in F, Rondo in C, 9 Suonate per organo (1764).

Description: Short, attractive organ pieces in Classical style from a musician active in Bonn from 1774-94 and who may have taught Beethoven (he replaced Beethoven's grandfather as Kapellmeister). The notes, by a retired economics professor, will tell you that almost every famous late work, symphony, opera or oratorio, by Haydn and Mozart was actually written by Luchesi. Worth having for this crackpot tale alone! Roberto Loreggian (organ of Candide di Cadore, Belluno).
