Description: Hess 47 is an arrangement done sometime after 1800 by Beethoven himself of the first movement of his 1794 string trio, Op. 3; it is a world premiere recording. The D major trio is an original piano trio from 1799 whose autograph is preserved in the British Library. It was prepared for publication but somehow lost two pages of the first movement; this is the world premiere recording of the work as completed by Robert McConnell. The Op. 63, published by Artaria in Vienna in 1806, was later, for no good reason, believed to not be by Beethoven. It's Beethoven's own transcription of his 1795 string quintet, op. 4 and its first recording, on the Dutch Raptus label, was offered here in April 2004 (04F041). The Beethoven Project Trio.
