Description: Covering 65 years of Reinecke's life, from 1845 (the Mendelssohnian soanta) to the year of his death (the 21-minute set of seven character pieces derived from an Andersen fairy tale), these first recordings are a tribute to his conservatism but also to his apparently limitless creativity and solid sense of craftsmanship.
