Description: This new recording brings the shorter of the seven two-violin sonatas, all of which share a nervous, jumpy quality whose energy flirts with violence, coupled with the four shorter pieces which are early, brooding character pieces both somber and fragile. The 1949 concerto is Pettersson's first work recognizable as his to those who only know his symphonic output and it was the first of his works to attain public performance.
