Description: The principal trombone of the Vienna Philharmonic (yes, he's English) offers a French recital of original pieces and a few transcriptions. Defaye should be the only completely unfamiliar name; he offers a diptych of solemn ritual followed by samba-derived fun in a pair of danses written as competition pieces in 1954. Ian Bousfield (trombone), Alison Procter (piano).
