Description: The earliest concerto is Petrini's from 1786, bright, fresh and Mozartian (except that Mozart's harp-writing was pianistic and Petrini's is actually for the harp). A different aspect of the instrument is provided by the dark, turbulent minor-key drama of D'Alvimare (written after 1803), against which the soloist sparkles like rays of sunshine through storm clouds. Steibelt's (1808) was written for D'Alvimare to perform and is the closest to early Romanticism of the trio. Masumi Nagasawa (simple pedal harp), Kölner Akademie; Michael Alexander Willens.
