Description: Offered for the not-often-recorded piano version of the Elgar but the rest of the program is thoughtfully chosen with Leighton and Rubbra’s penchant for medieval chant complimenting each other and acting as a foil to Bowen’s Romanticism while Sackman’s ten-minute, six-movement suite of piano pieces written for his teenage children is the cherry on the sundae.
