Description: Brahmsian, conservative, warm and Romantic, just like his violin sonatas which have already been recorded by both cpo and Toccata Classics, these cello works date from 1902 and 1911 and are brim-full of heart-easing and ear-pleasing tunes. Although he may experiment with structure and form, Kahn always focused on, as Clara Schumann put it when she recalled playing his first violin sonata, "passion, warmth, charm and superb workmanship". Torleif Thedéen (cello), Oliver Triendl (piano).
