Description: Abril has written prolifically for the guitar and his double concerto of 2003 offers three evocative vignettes (“Visions of the Bay”, “On a Malagan Folk Song” and “Homage to Picasso’s Art of Bullfighting”). Mistral (2011) is a single movement concerto of great color and dynamic palette and Guerena’s Concierto ecuánime embraces the rhythmic influence of jazz while employing the tuning used in the rodena form of flamenco.
