Description: Massenet's early (1865) Scènes intersperse three dances with an entry, finale and two rather more original internal pieces, one of which anticipates Debussy while the big, 31-minute Année (1897) is a 12-movement "four seasons" full of Romantic and also Impressionistic tone painting. Franck's early (1842) hyper-virtuosic duo comes from the period when his father was pushing him into a career as a virtuoso pianist; the companion piece, better-known as an organ work, is meditative, delicate and beautiful in the composer's own two-piano version. Duo Egri & Pertis (Pleyel double grand piano).
