Description: These works, mostly based around the composer's piano playing, fall somewhere along the ambient-minimalist-new age arc. Exclusively tonal and overwhelmingly consonant, they employ studio techniques more commonly found in non-classical genres. Where the composer fills out his textures with orchestral material and introduces some elements of dramatic conflict there is some similarity to the works of film composers such as Craig Armstrong; indeed, Einaudi has composed music for film himself.
