Description: These seven motets were written for various occasions at the Madeleine, where Saint-Saëns was the organist. Mixed with both sacred and secular organ pieces, the recital gives a picture of what one might have heard at any particular time during the 19 years (1858-77) during which the composer was in charge at the church, famous among fashionable society. La Lyre Séraphique, Vincent Genvrin (Cavaillé-Coll organ of l'église du Gésu, Toulouse).
