Description: Given that lullabies, by definition, can’t be loud, fast or atonal, it’s impressive that almost none of these lullabies sound alike. The notes mention Lorca’s observation that what sets Spanish lullabies apart is lyrics going “against the tranquil flow of the river of sleep” (i.e. sad or realistic stuff). Too bad you can’t tell how much these composers follow that since there are - - No texts. Carmen Solis (soprano), Eduardo Moreno (piano).
