Description: As a 90th birthday tribute to Theodorakis, Sebastian Schwab made arrangements of a number of his songs, providing new accompaniments to the original melodies, and setting the texts in German translation (with Theodorakis' complete approval). The result is a very convincing set of German lieder, the accompaniments more chromatic and modern, less modal and folklike than Theodorakis', but entirely in keeping with the expressive content of the older composer's naturally flowing, beautiful melodies.
