Description: Swiss composer Müller brings his orchestrational talents to two pieces of chamber music, the Juon (originally for piano trio) being particularly attractive in its new guise but we offer the disc for his one 2007 concerto, written for and premiered by Steven Isserlis. It’s three movements are inspired by the Klee paintings “Auftrieb und Weg”, “Versunkene Landschaft” and “Wie Kraut und Rüben” in which Müller sees the common thread of polyphony and irony. As with all of his music, it’s broadly tonal and approachable to even the mildly adventurous. Kamilla Schatz (violin), Pi-Chin Chien (cello), Georgian Chamber Orchestra Ingolstadt; Ruben Gazarian.
