Description: The start of this series got missed but, if you bought the second volume two months ago (05R043), you know that this is true juvenilia and the Schneider-Polka is the work of a six-year-old boy preserved in his father’s handwriting. Nothing else before the Op. 3 pieces is after 1874 (before Strauss had his first harmony and counterpoint lessons) and, as in volume two, Haydn and Mozart predominate with the turn to Schumann not coming until the published Klavierstücke of 1881. Dario Bonuccelli (piano).
