Reference: 1693

Format: CD

Price: $18.98

Description: This hour-long oratorio was written in 1901 under the supervision of Nowowiejski’s teacher Max Bruch. Thus, it inhabits the continuum of Beethoven, Brahms and Bruch with no trace of Wagner and his followers. It does, however, show its author as an impressive contrapuntist in the spectacular fugal at the work’s end where the organ and five-part choir join the action for the first time. No texts. Agnieszka Rehlis (mezzo), Arnold Rutkowski (tenor), Łukasz Konieczny (bass), Marek Pawełek (organ), Choir of the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic in Krakow, Feliks Nowowiejski Warmia and Masuria Philharmonic Orchestra in Olsztyn; Piotr Sułkowski.
