Description: A budding operatic composer apparently crushed by the Verdian onslaught in his adopted city of Venice, Buzzola's conservatism is clear also in his piano sonatas (most likely written between 1846-8). The Bellinian and Donizettian styles of his operas are matched by the influences of Mozart and Haydn in the second sonata and of Weber in the first (which may have been composed in Dresden). Aldo Fiorentin (piano).
