Description: You may buy this for the relatively rare Farrenc trio, which, at just over 23 minutes, is the longest and largest-scale work here. It was her last completed composition, dating from 1862, and a fitting cap to what was at the time, the most distinguished professional female composer's career yet to occur. Beach's set of variations, from1916, is better-known while the 20th century works are shorter and variably approachable to collectors of the Beach and Farrenc; the most instantly likeable is Tann's 1995 mini tone-poem inspired by an ancient Celtic legend. Emily Benyon (flute), Henk Rubingh Marijn Mijnders (violins), Roland Krämer (viola), Daniel Esser (cello), Sepp Grotenhuis (piano), Alexei Ogrintschouk (oboe), Petra van der Heide (harp).
