Description: A second new offering from this label concentrating on Jewish composers except this time they're women. All but the Keal are transcriptions for viola from other instruments but the poor and poorly-translated notes do not tell us what the original instrumentation was execpt for the biggest-scale piece: Liebmann's very Mozartian cello sonata of 1813-15 (she later studied in England with Ries). Stein-Schneider stands out for having survived three years in Terezin in her late 60s as well as for her attractive character pieces. Semyon Kalinowsky (viola), Bella Kalinowska (piano).
