Description: Czech music for string orchestra with Haas' Study perhaps most famous for being the work the Nazis filmed Karel Ancerl conducting in the Terezin concentration camp on Sept. 1, 1944; the score was rescued from the camp after the war by Ancerl and Peduzzi, a Haas family friend, restored the double-bass part. Also of interest is Martinu's own expansion of his 1932 sextet and which was first performed in 1951 by Robert Whitney with his Louisville Orchestra. Janácek Chamber Orchestra.
