Description: These 51 minutes of incidental music were written for a 1934 performance of the Shakespeare play in a production by the famous Max Reinhardt and staged in the Campo San Marco in Venice. The orchestra of La Scala performed and 3000 spectators crowded into temporary seating. There are 15 numbers, the choral parts are very brief, and the music ranges from full-orchestral power to a solo keyboard or guitar (evoking Elizabethan popular music).
