Label: Brilliant Classics
Description: Of Scarlatti's 800-odd cantatas, only 10% use instruments rather than bare basso continuo for accompaniment which makes these two stand out: a 21-minute exercise in unrequited love from c.1685 and a shorter, 13-minute example of the Arcadian genre from after 1706. But, those strings and flute being available, over half the disc's timing is allotted to the instrumental music. Italian texts. Gabriella Martellacci (alto), Inseime Strumentale di Roma; Giorgio Sasso.
