Description: Bohemian composers (who a century later would have been called Sudeten Germans), two of whom ended up in England and two staying in Austria-Hungary, on the innovating edge of Viennese Classical style, three of them with something unusual in their compostions - Gassmann’s two fugal movements, Zimmerman’s “extra” minuet, Koczwara’s rarely found instrumentation - making Kammel’s galant quartet stand out for its “ordinariness”.
