NIKOLAI MYASKOVSKY (1881-1950): Symphonies No. 1 and No. 13.

Description: An odd release but perhaps useful to Myaskovsky specialists since, except for Svetlanov’s complete cycle there are only a few recordings of some of the individual symphonies. No. 1 (1908, rev. 1920) is still in the wake of Tchaikovskian Romanticism while the single-movement No. 13 of 1933 is deeply inward-looking and disconsolate.
