FRANCESCO GEMINIANI (1687-1762): Concerti grossi, Op. 3 (transcr. Thomas Billington [1754- 1832?]).

Description: In one of those interesting cases in which the note-writer and the producers of the recording seem to have not communicated, we have notes telling us about this "anonymous" transcription while the transcriber's name is on the cover of the booklet. Regardless, it's another example of the rage in London for keyboard transcriptions of well-known and popular music, and Geminiani remained popular there well after his death. The disc also contains six of Geminiani's own keyboard transcriptions of movements taken from various of his works for strings. Stefano Demicheli (harpsichord).
