Description: Bruckner sang in and directed several choirs as he moved around Austria and wrote 41 secular choral pieces for them. Generally, these are larger-scale works than the Liedertafel pieces written by Schubert and Schumann (the performing choir here numbers 31); two come with organ accompaniment, preceded by organ improvisations, and three with piano. Excellent, detailed notes on each piece but, unfortunately, not translations. German texts. Männerchore Bruckner 12, Ensemble Linz; Thomas Kerbl.
