Description: Most of these Études, which take up just over an hour of this disc, are made up of a Prélude paired with a Fugue but their variety offers great diversity, and unveils the Reicha’s compositional genius: here are unexpected moods and textures, sophisticated canons, cheeky invertible counterpoint, chaconnes and minuet-like character pieces, all evidence of an eclectic, fertile mind versed in a wide variety of musical styles.
