GEIRR TVEITT (1908-1981): 18 selections from 100 Hardingtoner, EDVARD GRIEG (1843-1907): Ballade, Op. 24 (all arr. Nils Henrik Asheim [b.1960]).

Description: Tveitt hit a gold mine when he combined folk tunes from Hardanger with his unique sense of harmony and orchestration. The performer here took inspiration from the lush spectrum of colors of the Hundrad Hardingtonar version for orchestra and pulled out the organ’s entire stock of creative sound combinations as he also does for Grieg’s magnificent, epic range of variations on a Norwegian folk song.
