Description: The first two works listed above, both from 1929, are two of only three Rozsa compositions which use real Hungarian folk songs. The duo (1931) is just as colorful but the Hungarian sounds are original Rozsa while the solo sonata comes from the end of the composer's career (1986). This is the most complex, dissonant and challenging of any of his scores - the sort of thing you'd put on at a listening party and defy your guests to tell you which "film-score composer" wrote it! Philippe Quint (violin), William Wolfram (piano).
