LUIGI BOCCHERINI (1743-1805): Symphony in D, G 521, Octet in G, G 470, Cello Concertos inC, G 477 and in D, G 479.

Description: It's been 17 years since cpo recorded 28 of Boccherini's symphonies which have since been issued in a budget-priced box. Now, here comes this new release - same conductor (also the cellist here) but different orchestra and same cover design. What? The little six-minute symphony (c. 1790) is quite rare (only otherwise available on an out-of-print Sony Vivarte disc) while the octet is a chamber work from 1787 for string quintet (two cellos), horn, bassoon and oboe (it also was on the same Vivarte disc).
