Description: Blyton was an editor who worked closely with Britten from 1963 to 1971 at Faber, one of the first professors to hold a position in music for film, radio and television, a composer of music for some of the Doctor Who series (as well as much other TV and radio music) and a composer of light chamber and vocal music which is what we have here. All but two of the song cycles here date from 1951-57 and, with a couple of exceptions, are short, witty and delightfully rendered. Texts included. Stephen Roberts (baritone), Ian Partridge (tenor), Beryl Korman (soprano), Jennifer Partridge (piano), Sheherazade (Opp. 14 & 2/2).
