Description: Inspired, as all later composers for this instrument, by Conlon Nancarrow's pioneering works, Denhoff takes a different path in his 40-minute set of Inventions from 1999-2004, giving precedence to harmonic aspects rather than to rhythmic and contrapuntal complexities. His Glockenbuch (1996/2005) was inspired by the peal of bells which he heard during a period of working in the village of Cadenabbia from two churches on opposite sides of Lake Como.
