Description: The half-hour long Canti is a three-movement piano concerto from 1930 which suggests an Italian Rachmaninov; from three years earlier come the Canzoni, rather long songs (totaling just over 17 minutes) whose string quartet accompaniment allows Pizzetti to create dramatic and theatrical scenes from the poetic texts. The shorter Canti d'amore (1933) are much more intimate and small-scale, as are the two short piano pieces from 1942 and 1906 respectively as listed above. Italian texts.
