Description: In June of 2008, we offered a single disc of Petrali's music on the same label but with a different organist (06J046). The foremost organist and adviser to organ builders of the period, Petrali was also a mirror of the battle going on in the church over the secularization of its music. He wrote both styles in his career and this complete set contains two discs of the theatrical style (which often has more than a whiff of the theatre and the circus) and four of his late, austere, serious style. The DVD is a PAL disc but will play on most computers; it's title is "The Theatrical Organ in 19th Century Italy". 6 CDs and 1 DVD. Giulio Piovani (1884 Locatelli organ of SS. Barolomeo e Stefano, Bergamo, 1852 Serassi organ of Duomo di Valenza - Alessandria, 1884-1887 Bianchi organ of Nostra Sra. della Pieve, Moare - Alessandria and 1888 Bossi organ of S. Vincenzo, San Damiano d'Asti and 1897 Bossi organ of Sacro Cuore, Cuneo).
