Description: In 1969 this Québécois composer took a dozen French songs written by four popular Québécois performers (bringing true meaning to the term “niche repertoire”) and turned them into neo-baroque instrumental concertos in the style of Bach for piano and chamber orchestra (Mes quatre saisons) and suites (Turluteries). Both were recorded and issued on Columbia LPs (at least in Quebec). Now, a new period-instrument orchestra has re-recorded them with harpsichord instead of piano, making this release a kind of grandfather to the recent trend of original compositions in baroque style on authentic instruments. Jean-Willy Kunz (harpsichord), Orchestre symphonique de la Vallée-du-Haut-Saint-Laurent; Daniel Constantineau.
