Description: Two Spanish composers who fled their country after the fascists won the Spanish Civil War, the former to Paris and the latter to Mexico. They share a neo-classical style, Bal y Gay’s 1942 Divertimento with hints of Falla and Stravinsky and Bacarisse’s sparkling harp concerto (1954) adding Ravel and Les Six to the stylistic mix with Stravinsky. Cristina Montes (harp), Moonwinds; Joan Enric Lluna (clarinet).
