Description: World premiere recording of Piston's dodcaphonic Variations, written for Rostropovich in 1967. His 1972 duo is likewise twelve-tone and so is Berger's duo from 1951. Evett (1954) provides a calm, flowing, contemplative concerto of almost 20 minutes, which is predominantly in the andante tempo range until the last part of the final rondo. Leguia uses a carbon-fiber cello of his own design in all but the Evett. Luis Leguia (cello).
